What if, you don't need a GPS, but a device that records all your steps, to see it latter? It exists, and it haves a thousand of utilities; that device is a Trackstick. In technologic language it’s a locater to people and vehicles.

You can remember all the tracks of those wonderfull vocations of yours, keeping with the data of stops, how long, and the locations that you have been and at speed; if you want to control, you can see where have been your Porsche Carrera, for example. If you want to use it professionally, you can see the route and the temperature of the shipment on his way to the client.

As you can see, theres multiples choices to use Trackstick, that is all except a huge equipment as you propably guess on the biggining of the review.

The equipment looks just as a simple pen drive, and only needs to be installed on a place that gives the device a full view of the sky to connect with the satellites.

Trackstick records information’s such as velocity, how long you stopped, time and date, temperature and even altitude, and records all of them on a memory that has 1 to 4 Mb, depending of the models you choose. All the information’s can be downloaded on a PC and visualize thru USB port – free program Trackstick Manager its needed – and you can see it on Google Earth.

The accuracy its great; 2,5 meters, and the visual impression in 3D, given thru Google Earth, makes all the difference, even if you are planning your dream vocations, or want to know everything of your suns outs at night – he can come one week latter, because Trackstick can record for one entire week! If you wish to record in a spaced mode, it can track for several weeks and even for months! Some devices have a movement detector to spare even more battery. And the best of all, it’s that you don't have to buy nothing more (...)!

There are three models available: Trackstick Pro, only for vehicles, and Trackstick II and Super Trackstick, more for the daily tracks. The prices go from € 195 till € 235. A good investment!

GPS to record routes

It’s a small device that looks like a bigger USB pen drive, the Trackstick on his many versions it’s a passive localizer. A device able to detect and record the GPS network signs from the satellites. The difference it’s that he will not give information on the course. Doesn’t have any screen, doesn’t give any instructions by voice. He only stays on the place and record.

It’s when you connect it on a computer that we see the amazement, the route that we made with the device discreetly connected its, step by step, recorded. We can only see data or, we can see it on Google Earth, the free program from Google that shows the entire planet trough satellite photos. The record transforms on animated track, almost a video, and on every single point we can not just only see the place, but the velocity and temperature as well. (…)

Hansel and Gretel may have had breadcrumbs, but this is the 21st century. There is no reason to resort to baked goods to keep track of your path through the woods. The Trackstick II is a tiny GPS tracker that can record your wanderings for weeks at a time.

The TrackStick looks like a USB thumb drive and contains a GPS receiver and two AAA batteries. The device picks up signals from satellites orbiting the Earth to find your current position and then stores your coordinates over time. When you are back home, you can connect the TrackStick to a Windows PC and review your journey in Google Earth or a similar mapping program.

The (...) device can last for up to two weeks on one set of batteries. It stores location points in a megabyte of flash memory and can take a reading on your position every five seconds. (…)

Exercise fanatics can use the device to plan routes and measure runs, while travelers - apart from Hansel and Gretel, perhaps - can enjoy using it to relive their journeys.
